How to save Instagram Reels to your iPhone
You don't need an app to save a Reel on iPhone. Safari can download the MP4 directly, and from there it's one tap to put it in your camera roll.
Step by step
- In Instagram, open the Reel, tap the share icon and choose Copy link.
- Open this page in Safari and paste the link above.
- Choose Standard MP4 (720p). It's the format iPhone Photos supports best.
- Confirm. When Safari asks, tap Download.
- Open the Files app › Downloads, tap the video, then tap Share › Save Video. It's now in Photos.
Tips
- If you don't see the download, tap the download arrow in Safari's address bar.
- The 1080p option uses the VP9 format, which may not open in Photos. Use 720p for your camera roll.
- Only public Reels can be saved.
